Signal Maintenance, Traffic Operations Group, Neighborhood Streets Program (NSP)
Traffic Signal Maintenance Traffic Operations
Annual cabinet checks Investigate a variety of traffic concerns:
Preventative maintenance Requests for traffic signs, striping and

Activation/lnspections of new installations Provide technical support to Engineering,

Review all roads to determine any needed Encourage citizen involvement -

Inspect developments for conditioned Traffic Reduce cut-through traffic and improve

Other Activities
Maintain and operate Intelligent Transportation
System (ITS)
Maintain Safety Priority Index System (SPIS)
Maintain accident database
Perform ad hoc traffic counts and speed
surveys
Implement process to gain compliance with
recent changes to State & Federal standards
Maintain Intersection & Roadway files
Maintain and update Road Logs (track all
signing changes in the County)
Maintain lists of School Zone signs & markings
